Roberta’s Letter to her Sister

Dear Sis,

I hope you are well and enjoying your honeymoon in Los Angeles. If you get a chance to go to Disneyland, please bring me one of those Mickey Mouse hats—you know, the ones with the ears.

Guess what? I learned to ride a bike today! Joe has been trying to teach me for the past few days, but today was the first time I didn’t fall off or crash into anything. Of course, Mom doesn’t know anything so please don’t tell her. It’s ridiculous that at my age I still don’t have a bike like all my friends do. I don’t know what she is so afraid of. It’s not like I’m going to go biking on the highway. Anyway, I’ll probably tell Dad at some point, and ask him if he can buy me one, maybe for Christmas. I would much prefer to be riding biking to school than having Mom drop me off like I’m five years old. It’s so embarrassing!

Anyway, so how is California? Did you get a chance to swim in the Pacific Ocean? Is it anything like the Atlantic Ocean? Have you seen any movie stars yet? You are so lucky! I wish I was in your place. I’m glad you got to go. I guess getting married was a good idea since you got a trip to California out of it! Just kidding.

Love you and miss you,

Roberta
